Richard Gray Beaver

MOORESVILLE – Richard “Rudy” Gray Beaver, 80, died Sept. 15, 2018.

He was born July 17, 1938, in Mt. Ulla to the late Carl Everet Beaver and Annie Reid Lowrance Beaver.

He served as a military policeman, worked at Carolina Rubber Hose and Reeves Brothers and later co-owned Port City Transfer & Storage Co. He was a Mooresville Mason and helped begin Centenary (West Rowan) Fire Department and was a fireman for more than 40 years.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Harold, and sister-in-law, Barbie Bolmer Whitener.

Survivors include his wife, Pam Bolmer Beaver; children, Allen Robertson and wife, Sharon, Rodney Beaver and wife, Adriana, and Annie Heglar and husband, Dwayne; brother, Wallace Beaver and wife, Peggy; sister, Carol Wilson; brother-in-law, Bill Bolmer; sister-in-law, Sonja Beaver; brother-in-law, Chris Whitener; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services were held Sept. 18 at Prospect Presbyterian Church.

Cansell David Brown

MOORESVILLE – Cansell David Brown, 90, died Thursday, Sept. 13, 2018, at Serenity House, Mooresville.

He was born Oct. 2, 1927, to the late James Grover Brown and Della Blanche Pethel Brown.

Cansell served in the U.S. Army Air Corps/Air Force and worked at Burlington Mills.

Cansell was preceded in death by his son, James David Brown; brothers, Carl and Harry Brown; and sister, Lena Beam.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia “Pat” Hager Brown; sons, Barry Lee Brown and wife, Dava, and Richard Cyrus Brown; brother, Grier Brown and wife, Lois; three grandsons; a step-grandson; and three step-great-grandchildren.

Services were held Sept. 14 at Mooresville ARP Church. Burial followed at Glenwood Memorial Park.

Charles Franklin Jaro

MOORESVILLE – Charles Franklin Jaro, aka “Jaro”, 65, died Sept. 12, 2018, at his home.

He was born April 9, 1953, in Charlotte to Hazel Watkins Jaro and the late Frank E. Jaro.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joy Jaro.

Survivors include his mother; children, Carmen Jaro and Mark Sherrill; and brothers, Michael Jaro and Frank Jaro.

Services were held Sept. 18, at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home.

Milas Junior Lowder

MOORESVILLE – Milas “Buck” Junior Lowder, 84, died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2018.

He was born Aug. 5, 1934, in Rowan County to the late Milas Alexander Lowder and Liler Lowder.

Lowder was retired from Burlington Industries and then worked for Penske Racing.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Darnell Jenkins; brother, Larry Lowder; and sister, Audrey Lowder.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Robinson Lowder; daughters, Lora Lowder, Tammy Lowder and Debra Lowder; step-sons, Tony Robinson and Doug Robinson; brother, Gene Lowder; sister, Shirley Smith; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services were held Sept. 16 at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed at Glenwood Memorial Park in Mooresville.

Henry James Wallace Jr.

MOORESVILLE  – Henry James Wallace Jr., 72, died Sept. 11, 2018, at the Brian Center in Mooresville.

He was born on Oct. 30, 1945, in Mecklenburg County to the late Henry and Effie Wheeler Wallace.

He worked in the newspaper industry.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Martin Wallace; children, Scott Wallace and wife, Teresa, Matthew Wallace and Heather Wallace Hawk and husband, Joey, all of Mooresville; and two grandchildren.

Services were held Sept. 14 at Berea Baptist Church.

Carl Alvin Brown

MOORESVILLE – Carl Alvin Brown, 92, died Sept. 10, 2018.

He was born Dec. 25, 1925, in Mooresville to the late Oscar and Margaret Waugh Brown.

He served in the U.S. Army and Merchant Marines, worked for John V. Barger Construction and retired from Brown & Walker Company.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Helen B. Howard and Bessie B. Harwell; brothers, Vance Brown and Walter Brown and wife, Juanita O. Brown; son, Stephen Brown; and Stevie’s mother, Mary Weddington Brown.

Survivors include his daughter, Kimberly Brown; son, Tony Brown; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services were held Sept. 13 at Triplett UMC. Interment followed at Glenwood Memorial Park with full military honors.
