Mooresville spinners

The Mooresville Spinners open the season at home May 25.

MOORESVILLE – Coming off a championship season, the Mooresville Spinners recently announced their spring and summer baseball schedule for 2019.

Opening night at Moor Park is slated for Saturday, May 25 – Memorial Day weekend – against the High Point Locos, and the regular season runs through July 25. Though there is plenty of quality baseball to see from the players of the Southern Collegiate Baseball League, the off-the-field entertainment can be just as appealing.

Some of the promotional highlights include:

• Teacher Appreciation Night, June 1 (School employees with ID get free admission)

• Youth Appreciation Night, June 5 (Kids wearing their youth sports jersey gets free admission)

• Craft Beer Festival, June 22 (Live music, cornhole, food trucks, craft beer)

• Military Appreciation Night, July 3 (All veterans and active military get free admission; a jersey auction will be held following the game)

• NASCAR Night, TBD (All NASCAR and race team employees get free admission)

The Spinners roster will have at least 10 players from the Lake Norman area, as the team will look to continue its streak of four consecutive winning seasons in David Newcomer’s second season as head coach. For the full schedule, visit
