The North Iredell High School Theatre Department brought home honors from the 2018 North Carolina Theatre Conference  High School Play Festival, held at the end of the last month at Catawba College. The program, led by Amos McCandless, presented “Hyper-Focus,” about a boy named Thomas Jefferson who is diagnosed with attention deficit disorder. He is helped by his mom, teacher and potential girlfriend. The department received Theater Arts Award for Excellence in Use of Props; Excellence in Acting went to Joseph Kennedy; Outstanding Achievement in Ensemble Acting, Excellence in Directing went to Amos McCandless; Distinguished Play (Judge’s Choice); and a rating of Superior. The top two outstanding productions from each regional site advances to the NCTC State HIgh School Play Festival later this month at Greensboro College.
