Helen Arnold Lane

MOORESVILLE – Helen Arnold Lane, 88, died July 2, 2018, at Serenity House of Mooresville.

She was born Feb. 16, 1930, in Johnson City, Tenn., to the late Worley and Sylvia Arnold.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. Lane; and sisters, Betty Snyder and Ruby Boyles.

Survivors include her children, Lisa Lane Booze and husband, Joe, and Jeffrey Scott Lane and wife, Lori; sister, Lorraine Parris and husband, Glenn; brother, Edward Arnold and wife, Thelma; stepson Chuck Lane Jr. and wife, Percy; one granddaughter; and two step-grandchildren.

Services were held July 7 at Peninsula Baptist Church.

Steffen Dewey Ward

MOORESVILLE – Steffen Dewey Ward, 66, died June 29, 2018, at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center.

He was born Nov. 2, 1951, in Sodus, N.Y., to the late George and Lila Veltman Ward.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Diane Bacon.

Survivors include his sons, Cory Ward and wife, Lauren, and Jason Ward and fiancée, Erin Heberle; sister, Pat Poole; and three grandchildren.

Services will be private.

Cynthia Belk Taylor

HICKORY – Cynthia “Cindy” Belk Taylor, 63, died June 26, 2018, at Rowan Regional Medical Center.

She was born Dec. 30, 1954, in Mooresville to Patsy Perry Belk and the late Oscar “Pete” Belk.

Survivors include her mother; husband, William “Rick” Taylor; and sisters, Betty Jean Belk and Karen Gray and husband, William.

Services were held June 30 at Triplett United Methodist Church.

Arta Sue Wood Cagle

DAVIDSON – Arta Sue Wood Cagle, 83, died June 26, 2018.

She was born Sept. 14, 1934, in Bristow, Okla., to the late Emma and Neal Wood.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Ray Cagle.

Survivors include her daughters, Tonya and husband, Kelvin, and Kimberly and husband, Michael; sister, Anita; brother, Neal; and six grandchildren.

Services were held July 11 at Grace Covenant Church.
