Darlene Owens Decker

MOORESVILLE – Darlene Owens Decker, 75, died Friday, June 22, 2018.

She was born on May 27, 1943, in Herrin, Ill., to the late Lowell Ralph Owens and Hilda Hubbard Owens.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis William Decker.

Survivors include her children, Rochelle Decker Firestone and husband, Jeff, and Eric Decker and wife, Marie; sister, Sondra Myers; brother, Roger Owens; three grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; an honorary grandchild; and two honorary great-grandchildren.

Services were June 26 at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home Chapel.

Allan Ernest Botsis

MOORESVILLE – Allan Ernest Botsis, 74, died Thursday, June 21, 2018.

He was born Aug. 5, 1943 in Newark, N.J., to the late George and Sylvia Pikoulas Botsis.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and retired from A.K. Steel in Butler, Pa.

Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Zarnick Botsis; daughters, Stacy Botsis, Natalie Boschele and husband, Kris, and Tina Botsis and fiancé, Eric Figueroa; sisters, Harriet Herring and Ann Diener; brother, Peter Botsis; and six grandchildren.

Services were June 25 at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home. A graveside service was held at Salisbury National Cemetery.

Gaye Mayhew Knox Turman

MOORESVILLE – Gaye Mayhew Knox Turman, 100, died June 20, 2018, at Carolinas HealthCare System NorthEast in Concord.

She was born June 12, 1918, in Cornelius to the late Martin and Jamie Harris Mayhew.

She retired from General Times.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Earl M. Knox and Joe Frank Turman; son, Earl “Butch” Knox Jr.; daughter, Earlene Lawing; son-in-law, Troy Lawing; sisters, Mabel Readling, Sarah Ballard and Cornelia Honeycutt; brother, Bud Mayhew; and one granddaughter.

Survivors include her daughters, Alice K. Price and husband, Jerry, and Sharon K. Kistler and husband, Bill; daughter-in-law, Karen M. Knox; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Services were held June 24 at the Cavin-Cook Funeral Home chapel.
