Brandon Paul Maxwell

MOORESVILLE ­ Brandon “B” Paul Maxwell, 32, died Tuesday, May 29, 2018.

He was born Sept. 21, 1985, in Clinton, Md., to Daniel Paul Maxwell and Lisa Zigler Hunt.

He was an electrician for Elite Electrical Concepts, Inc.

Survivors include his sons, Braxton and Blake Maxwell; the mother of his children, Brandy Barrett; sister, Heather Alli; brothers, Jason, Timothy, Clayton and J.D. Maxwell; grandparents, Stanley and Barbara Maxwell; and his father’s companion, Mare Simpson.

Services were held June 4  at Heritage House of Cavin-Cook Funeral Home.

Arthur Lee Whipple II 

MOORESVILLE –  Arthur Lee Whipple II, 69, died Tuesday, May 29, 2018, after an unexpected brief illness.

He was born Dec. 20, 1948, in Charlotte and was the son of the late Charles Wellington Whipple, Ruberta Belliveau Whipple Thompson and her husband, James Theodore Thompson.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, and spent most of his career with the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office.

He was preceded in death by his brother, James T. Thompson Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Michelle Whipple; and siblings, James P. Whipple, Timothy L. Thompson, Gloria A. Thompson, Gregory M. Thompson and wife, Connie, Charlisa G. Whipple, Malinda W. Siegal and husband, Kenneth, and H. Lee Whipple.

A private service will be held.

Nilson Robert Silva

MOORESVILLE –­ Nilson Robert Silva, 55, died Sunday, May 27, 2018.

He was born April 8, 1963, in Sao Paulo, Brazil, to the late Jose Silva and Maria Costa.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Sandra.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara McGirr Silva; children, Danette McGirr and husband, Anthony, Brandon Silva and girlfriend, Sarah, Tyler Silva and fiancée, Genevieve; sister, Nelia Silva; brothers, Nelson, Nilton and John Silva; and four grandchildren.

A prayer service was held June 1 at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home.

Nick Dwane Heath

MOORESVILLE ­– Nick Dwane Heath, 58, died Sunday, May 27, 2018, at Rowan Regional Medical Center, Salisbury.

He was born Oct. 27, 1959, in Miami to Mary Kathleen Hardin Christie and the late Nickdomias Heath.

He was a heavy equipment mechanic.

Survivors include his step-father, Joe A. Christie; son, Nick D. Heath Jr.; brothers, Tim Heath and Joe A. Christie Jr. and three grandchildren.

James Cameron Ramey

MOORESVILLE ­– James “Jerry” Cameron Ramey, 84, died Saturday, May 26, 2018, at Gordon Hospice House, Statesville.

He was born Oct. 23, 1933, in Red Springs to the late Everett Ramey and Mary Alice Meacham Pruitt.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran and served on the town board of commissioners.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Amanda Kerr Ramey.

Survivors include his wife, Janet Kerr Ramey; son, Cam Ramey; brother, Douglas Peek; sister, Barbara Peterson; and a granddaughter.

A graveside service was held May 31 at Prospect Presbyterian Church.

Gary Wilson

MOORESVILLE – Gary Wilson, 55, died Friday, May 25, 2018.

He was born July 17, 1962, in Mooresville to James Franklin Wilson and the late Dorothy Branch Wilson.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Karen Wilson.

Survivors include his son, Timothy Wilson, and brother, Dale Wilson.

A graveside service was held May 29 at at Glenwood Memorial Park.

Robert E. Lee 

MOORESVILLE –­ Robert E. Lee, 87, died Wednesday, May 23, 2018.

He was born March 20, 1931, in Bronx, N.Y., to the late Victor and Mary Hunt Lee.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran and worked as an engineer for Grumman Aerospace.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Lois Smith.

Survivors include his wife, Lesley Range Lee; daughters, Deborah Shortt and husband, David, Claudia Smith and husband, Jeffrey; and two grandsons.

The family will receive friends on 9:30-11 a.m. Friday, June 29 with a service following at 11 a.m. at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home Chapel. A graveside service with full military honors will be held at 1 p.m. at Salisbury National Cemetery.
