Terri Hayes Sobiecki

MOORESVILLE – Terri Hayes Sobiecki, 62, died Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at Levine & Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville.

She was born on Sept. 3, 1955, in Wilkes County, to Bobbie Dancy Hayes and the late Ralph Conrad Hayes.

She is survived by her children, Michael York and wife, Melissa, Chris York and wife, Candice, and Kelly York; brother, Jeff Hayes; and three grandchildren.

Services were held March 26 at Bethany Baptist Church, Moravian Falls.

Cinda A’del Carter Landro

MOORESVILLE – Cinda A’del Carter Landro, 77, died March 21, 2018 at Levine & Dickson Hospice House, Huntersville. 

She was born Jan. 3, 1941, in Cabarrus County to the late Adam Carter and Ruby Ruth Biggerstaff Misisco.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Myra Reilly. 

Cinda is survived by her daughters, Lisa Bowman and Laura Gaines; sons, Jim Landro and wife, Tina Landro, and Keith Landro; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services were held March 24 at St. Therese Catholic Church.

Mary Morrow Brantley

MOORESVILLE – Mary “Tut” Morrow Brantley, 99, died Tuesday, March 20, 2018, at Genesis Eldercare, Mooresville.

She was born in February 1919 in Mt. Ulla to the late Sidney O. Morrow and Zulia Mae Childers Morrow.

She retired from the textile industry.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard “Hap” Brantley, three brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include her daughters, Nancy Diamond and husband, Dan, and Dianne Hartley and husband, Tom; her half-brother, Bill Douglas; a grandson; and a great-grandson.

Services were held March 23 at Centre Presbyterian Church.

David John Meldrum

SHERRILLS FORD – David John Meldrum, 76, died March 19, 2018, at the Catawba Regional Hospice of Sherrills Ford after a long battle with heart disease.

He was born July 13, 1941, in Ithaca, N.Y., to Robert and Kathleen Hornbrook Meldrum.

He had retired as production superintendent after more than 40 years at Therm Incorporated of Ithaca.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Allen Meldrum; his four children; two brothers, Robert Meldrum and Bill Meldrum; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He and MaryAnn moved from the north to Sherrills Ford nine years ago to be near family and for warmer weather after several health issues.

Services were held March 26 at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home in Mooresville.

James Ronald Davis

MOORESVILLE – James Ronald Davis, 83, died Monday, March 19, 2018, at the Liberty Lane Hospice House at the VA Medical Center in Salisbury.

He was born on April 19, 1934, in Asheville to the late Nathaniel Taylor Davis and Margaret Capps Davis.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran and retired from Americo.

He was preceded in death by a step-grandson.

Survivors include his wife, Susie Keyes Davis; sons, Douglas Davis and wife, Mandy, Dennis Davis and wife, Polly; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was held March 23 at Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain.
