He was born May 25, 1944.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran and worked in the industrial coatings industry.

Services were held May 2 at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home.

Johnsie Reese Cornett

MOORESVILLE – Johnsie Reese Cornett, 85, died April 29, 2018, at The Living Center in Concord.

She was born June 14, 1932, in Mooresville to the late John R. and Zetta Harwell Reese.

She worked for Mooresville Mills.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Cornett; brother, Robert Jarrett; and sister, Mary Kathryn Deaton.

Survivors include her stepchildren, William Cornett and wife, Paige, Darrell Cornett and wife, Debbie, and Clinton Cornett and wife, Kathy; and four grandchildren.

Services were held May 3 at Glenwood Memorial Park.

Rose Grant Deaton

MOORESVILLE – Rose Grant Deaton, 67, April 29, 2018.

Rose was born Sept. 23, 1950, in Statesville to Margaret Neel Grant and the late John Forest.

She worked as a dental hygienist.

Survivors include her mother; husband, Dennis Deaton; sons, Denny Deaton and wife, Niki, Grant Deaton and wife, Kitch, of Mooresville, and Tyler Deaton; sister, Linda Grant; and five grandchildren.

Services were held May 2 at Mooresville ARP Church.

Maria Antoinette Daymude

MOORESVILLE – Maria Rozas de Navarro Daymude, 90, died April 24, 2018, at Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory.

She was born on March 23, 1928, in Cuzco, Peru.

She retired as a Hispanic Coordinator with the U.S. Government.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Pepe, Mario and Willy.

Survivors include her husband, Wayne T. Daymude; children, Gregory Daymude and wife, Jennifer, Sue Tiller and husband, Jamie, and Maureen Cossoff and husband, Bill; and seven grandchildren.

Services were held April 28 at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home Chapel.
