I am encouraged to read, in this publication and others, about talks to change or delete the I-77 toll lane contract.  But what I want to know is why these talks and economic impact studies weren't being held YEARS AGO before the contract was signed in the first place??!!??  It would have be…

March 12 - Still almost dark at 7:30 am (due to the time change)  and raining to boot. How many cars did I see with no lights on?  Too many!  Not only was it dark but, it is the law - “wipers on, lights on”.  USED to be, when someone did not have their headlights on and someone wanted to ale…

To the person being critical to the Mooresville Soup Kitchen, shame on you.  I am one of those people that drive a nice vehicle and go to the Soup Kitchen.  I along with many others park our nice vehicles on that road and go inside the Soup kitchen.  We then begin to cook, serve, unload truc…

"I am really disgusted at the Mooresville Soup Kitchen at allowing the number of free-loaders use their facility.  If you have ever driven by the kitchen and noticed the nice autos lined up and down the street, you know what I mean.  These people do not need the free hand outs received there.…

The speed limit on Highway 115 North (between 150 and Di ‘Dio dog care) is 45 MPH (except at Shepherds School which is 35). The speed limit changes to 55 at the dog care. Riding my rear bumper will not help your cause and make me go any faster.  The speed limit is 45.

At this time of the year I start to see people just complaining about getting ready for the holidays.  Complaining about having to shop.. having family over.. having to cook ... oh boy... is that too hard??? Thats is what life is about.. family .. good times and sharing meals!  Stop complain…

What is up with Mooresville drivers who can not read?! Drivers at Hwy 150/801 intersection: STOP PASSING DRIVERS TURNING LEFT, ON THE RIGHT! There are signs clearly posted, and you are going to KILL SOMEONE, if not yourself! Also, DO NOT BLOCK INTERSECTION, means just that, DO NOT BLOCK INTE…

Why is it that so many contractors like to park their truck clear across my driveway when there are no cars blocking other spots? Don’t they consider that I may need to get my car out? Totally thoughtless!  Same thing happened with a police car that was there to talk to a neighbor that lives…

I have heard some trick-or-treaters (kids) telling people that the candy they got at so-and-so’s house is terrible candy. The NERVE of those kids!  People do not have to give out candy and if you are going house to house “begging” for candy, then you have nothing to say about what you get.  …

I don’t understand why a nonworking single woman with kids is given a house by some charitable organization. My widowed mom found herself a job and raised 4 of us in a one-bedroom apartment. We did fine and she certainly never expected a handout. While I peeve, how many on the dole seem to f…

Whoever is responsible for allowing the train to do the track switching between 5 -5:30 pm, on a weekday at NGK,  should have their head examined. That intersection is far too busy for them to be taking all that time to do that. What have they been doing the other 7-8 hours during the day wh…

To the person that peeved (responded to) the person who wrote about the Sunday morning lawn mowing session at 10 am  and they “suggested” that it might be the writer’s issue.. no, it is a “have some respect for your neighbors” issue.

Every time it rains I see car after car driving without their headlights on. I give them the bright flashers as they are approaching and they just drive by. These are probably the same ones that never bother to signal when turning.

Motorists traveling on Williamson and Bluefield, trying to turn east onto 150 disregard the “Do Not Block Intersection” sign. Two lights at Lowes and Rolling Hills limit the amount of vehicles stopped for a red light, leaving no room for drivers trying to get onto 150. So, they block this in…

NCDOT had to waste more taxpayer money for a consultant to tell to get out of the toll road deal. Citizens of NC told them that already.

Just feeling sad that neighbors can’t be responsible for their own pets.  There IS a leash law in Mooresville.  I shouldn’t have to struggle to keep my dog, who’s being walked on a leash in her own backyard, from trying to get at the neighbor’s dog who just happened to saunter, yet again, on…

When speaking about Costco Thurman Houston claimed, “We’ve not raised taxes but one time”. Really?! My taxes went up 60% last year. Oh wait. That’s right; you didn’t raise the tax rate so I guess my taxes didn’t increase. Someone should ask Mr. Houston how much tax revenues have increased as…

“I don’t mind and you don’t matter”. That might be said of all those who litter and display behavior that is common with the common people in our country today. This egocentric mentality is prevalent and reflects a mentality that communicates; if it is good for me, I don’t mind if it’s bad for you.

To the person that is peeving that I might be going "too slow" in the passing lane.. Hey, I should not have to drive 75 in that lane just because YOU are blowing smoke up my rear end!  That is NOT a speed lane and it seems to be just that these days.  The speed limit is the MAXIMUM - NOT the…

Left-lane campers peeve me. To the person who peeved, "Driving I-77 with people riding your bumper..." Hey slowpoke, slower traffic keep right. It's common sense. The only time you should be in a lane other than the right lane is when you're passing a slower car. If you're ever passed by a c…

For safety reasons on narrow streets the Town posted No Parking signs in our subdivision. However police will not ticket scofflaws even when they park the wrong way under the no parking signs or block stop signs. Why?  Police once said why should they when State gets the money.

  • 0

Cintra is literally, shoving a toll road down our throats with all this dust. Where is the safety enforcement by NCDOT on I-77?

  • 0

The State of NC could save tons of money by doing away with speed limit signs as well as stop signs and stop lights. Why you ask? Because no one seems to heed them anyway.  If a light is turning yellow as one heads under it and 3-4 cars behind them come on through, what is the use? And no on…
