Two men, one of them reportedly a member of the Bloods gang, were arrested Jan. 6 in Mooresville on felony drug charges.
The alleged gang member, Brandon Maurice Duff, 29, of Davidson; and Dominic Antwan Diggs, 34, of Statesville were arrested by members of the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Aggressive Criminal Enforcement Team, who were on foot patrol in the area of East Wilson Avenue and South Church Street after complaints of drug activity there, according to a press release.
Deputies reportedly witnessed what appeared to be a drug deal taking place in a parked car. A search revealed approximately 7 grams of crack cocaine, more than 40 grams of marijuana, and “numerous items consistent with the sale and distribution of illegal narcotics,” according to the release.
Duff, who has a long criminal record including drug and weapons charges, was charged with felony possession with the intent to sell and deliver cocaine, felony possession with the intent to sell and deliver marijuana, felony possession of marijuana, felony maintaining a vehicle for the sale of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was given a $40,000 secured bond.
Diggs was charged with possession with the intent to sell and deliver cocaine, possession with the intent to sell and deliver marijuana, felony possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was given a $35,000 secured bond.
