Mooresville Police Department K9 officers on Friday placed the first flag at the the Mooresville-Lake Norman Exchange Club's annual Field of Honor display in memory of their former colleague, Jordan Sheldon, who was shot and killed during a traffic stop May 4. Volunteers then began placing more than 750 flags on the field at the Lake Norman YMCA. The display, which honors military personnel who died in action, will run through Memorial Day.
