There are openings in the age 3 Choir, Pre-K-Kindergarten Choir, Children’s Choir grades first through sixth, Student Choir grades seven through 12, Student Sign Language Choir, Adult Choir, Senior Adult Choir, Adult Handbell Groups, Adult Choir Chimes, Children’s Handbells grades four through six, Student Handbells grades seven through 12 and Orchestra and Praise Band.

In His Steps classes starting

CORNELIUS – In His Steps, a nonprofit dance ministry for girls, is offering free dance classes for girls in pre-K through 12th grade.

Classes begin the week of Sept. 10, and girls are invited to join. Mooresville classes take place Wednesday evenings at First Baptist Church in Mooresville. It takes place Tuesdays at Horizon Church, 316 Signal Hill Drive, Statesville.

In addition to dance classes, In His Steps offers spiritual development through biblical-based devotions. The organization, with classes led by volunteers, focuses on giving girls a safe place to learn about Jesus, develop a positive self-image and share the challenges they face.

Volunteers and tax-deductible donations are encouraged to make the initiative a success.

Family Care for Mental Health Support Group


MOORESVILLE – Family Care for Mental Health is a place where a family member or a friend can receive support while caring for a loved one managing mental illness. It meets the first Tuesday of each month at Cove Church, 197 Langtree Road.

Celebration Place is for infants through fifth-graders whose parents/guardians are attending.

A light dinner starts at 6 p.m. with meetings taking place 6:30-8:30 p.m.
