MOORESVILLE – Samone Graham was named Mooresville High School’s newest assistant principal at the Mooresville Graded School District’s Sept. 11 Board of Education meeting.
Graham has been a science teacher at the high school since 2006.
“Ms. Graham has distinguished herself in the classroom,” MGSD Superintendent Stephen Mauney said. “(She) is a strong teacher leader at Mooresville High School and in our district. She builds positive relationships with her peers and her students and holds them all to high standards.”
Graham was named the 2017-18 North Carolina Southwest Region Teacher of the Year and is a graduate of Mooresville High School.
She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Winston-Salem State and is earning her master’s degree in school administration from UNC-Charlotte.
As is the district’s procedure, Graham and other candidates were interviewed by a committee, and Graham was the top choice.
