Services for slain Mooresville K9 Jordan Officer Jordan Sheldon will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Calvary Church in Charlotte.

A procession of public safety vehicles will accompany Sheldon from a funeral home in Concord to the church, which is at 5801 Pineville-Matthews Road. Following the service, a procession will travel to to the Mooresville Police Department.

The specific travel route and time for the procession to Mooresville will be posted after all transportation logistics are finalized, the Mooresville Police Department said.

Sheldon, 32, a six-year veteran of the Mooresville Police Department, was shot during a traffic stop on West Plaza Drive at about 10 p.m. Saturday, according to police. He was transported from the scene but died from his injuries.

MPD identified the suspect as Michael Yovany Aldana, 28, of Mooresville.

Police found Aldana shortly after Saturday’s shooting in a nearby apartment, dead from an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound.
