MOORESVILLE – Robert “Bob” William Wilt, 70, died Sunday, Oct. 22, 2017, at his residence.

He was born Feb. 9, 1947, in Bronx, N.Y., to the late William and Alice Margaret Schatz Wilt. He worked for Praxair.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Veronica Bak Wilt; son, Brian Robert Wilt; and sister, Susan Wilt Hanf.

Survivors include his children, Michael Wilt, Allison M. Coughlin and husband, Kevin, of Mooresville; sister, Lorraine Rega; and four grandchildren.

Services were held Oct. 28 at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home Chapel.

Sabrina Kathleen Needles

MOORESVILLE – Sabrina Kathleen Needles, 17, died Friday, Oct. 20, 2017.

She was born Nov. 12, 1999, in Logan, Utah, to Jordan Eugene and Katie Fitzgerald Needles, of Mooresville.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Judy Fitzgerald.

Survivors include her sisters, Jessica and Miriam; brothers, Charles and Josh; and grandparents, C. Michael Fitzgerald and Jesse and Janette Needles.

Services were held Oct. 27, 2017, at the Heritage House of Cavin-Cook Funeral Home.

Opal Louise Owens Westmoreland

MOORESVILLE – Opal Louise Owens Westmoreland, 88, died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2017, at Gordon Hospice House in Statesville.

She was born April 12, 1929, in Albemarle to the late Buck and Bessie VanHoy Owens.

She worked for Eastern Airlines.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Roth Westmoreland; and sister, Ruth O. Williams.

Survivors include her children, Pam Westmoreland Sholar of Mooresville, Henry Houston Westmoreland and husband, Charles H. Milligan and John White Westmoreland of Mooresville; and sister, Lee Wilhelm Smith of Mooresville.

Services were held Oct. 21 at Willow Valley Cemetery.

Mary White McDuffie

MOORESVILLE – Mary “Nana” White McDuffie, 91, died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2017, at Serenity House in Mooresville.

She was born on May 5, 1926, in Little Mountain, S.C., to the late Willie and Mamie Frick White.

She was preceded in death by seven sisters and one brother.

Survivors include her husband, Duncan McDuffie; children, Diane McCauley and husband, Ron, Rene Griffin and husband, Gary, and Jeffrey LeClair and wife, Sabrina; stepdaughters, Susan Pechar and husband, Mike, Mary Cary, and Archer Kitchings and husband, Duane; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.

Services were held Oct. 14 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church

Bruce Allen Hollenbeck

MOORESVILLE – Bruce Allen Hollenbeck, 77, died Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017, at Gordon Hospice House in Statesville.

He was born on Nov. 29, 1939, in Buffalo, N.Y., to the late Vernon Hollenbeck and Dorothy Harris Hollenbeck.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Army Reserves.

He worked as a New York City Police captain.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Gerald, Paul and Jeff Hollenbeck; sister, Sharalyn Potter; and two grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Zaiga Rozentals Hollenbeck; children, Scott Hollenbeck and wife, Lori, Tracy Richert and husband, David, and Wendy Hendrickson and husband, Ed; sister, Donna Summerville; six grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

Services were held Oct. 12 at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home Chapel.

Paxton Love Bova

MOORESVILLE – Paxton Love Bova, 23, died Friday, Oct. 6, 2017, in Charlotte.

She was born on May 11, 1994, in Atlanta to Mark and Teresa Bova.

She is survived by her daughter, Aaliyah Bova; sister, Tess Cortes and husband, Manuel; and grandmother, Louise Bova.

Services were held Oct. 14 at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home Chapel.
