Everett Linn Baxter

MOORESVILLE – Everett Linn Baxter, 73, of Mooresville died Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2017, at Levine and Dickson Hospice House, Huntersville.

He was born in Mooresville on Oct. 10, 1944, to the late Everette and Ophelia Poston Baxter.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nell Wright Baxter.

He worked as a barber at Whitey’s Barber Shop for more than 54 years.

Survivors include his wife, Julia “Judy” Melchor Baxter; children, Tami Baxter Barker and husband, Mike, Amy Baxter Barbery and husband, Kevin, Ana Baxter and partner, Kim, stepdaughter, Lisa Hollman and husband, Ken and stepson, David Wilson and wife, Lesley; and 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services were held Oct. 12 at Heritage House of Cavin-Cook Funeral Home.

Julian Gandy

MOORESVILLE – Julian “Butch” Gandy, 54, of Mooresville died Monday, Oct. 9, 2017.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Fran Gandy.

Survivors include his father and step-mother, Bobby and Shelby Gandy of Mooresville; half-brother, Bobby Gandy of Mooresville and wife, Jennifer; stepsiblings, Kimberly Peterson and husband, Caleb, Misty Knight and husband, Zac, Tara Dowling and husband, Rich, Debbie Doby and husband, Ron, Brett Burkhart Jr. and wife, Amber, Brad Burkhart and wife, Heather, and Reggie Vanzant and wife, Laura.

Services were held Oct. 14 at Williamson’s Chapel United Methodist Church.

Claude Ulric Voils

MOORESVILLE – Claude Ulric Voils Jr., 88, died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2017, at his residence.

He was born on April 21, 1929, in Mooresville, to the late Claude and Addria Carpenter Voils. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served in the Korean War.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Morgan Voils; and infant twin brother, Thad Voils.

Survivors include his daughters, Jane Kinney and husband, Steve, Mary Aven and late husband, Gary Aven; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services were held Oct. 13 at First Presbyterian Church.

Millard LeRoy Windon

MOORESVILLE – Millard “Windy” LeRoy Windon, 73, died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2017, at Gordon Hospice House in Statesville.

He was born on April 8, 1944, in Parkersburg, Wash., to the late Millard and Goldie Smith Windon.

He was a U.S. Army veteran.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty McKinney.

Survivors include his wife, Karen Litton Windon; children, Tim Windon and wife, Anita, Jody Windon and wife, Jenna, Carrie Powell and husband, Mark, and Julie Angell and husband, Jason; sisters, Rita Rogers, Connie Marsh and Carolyn Kiser; brother, Melvin Windon; and 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services were held at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home Chapel.

Jane McGinnis Robinson Clark

MOORESVILLE – Jane McGinnis Robinson Clark, 80, died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2017, at her residence.

She was born on Oct. 16, 1936, in Mocksville, to the late Walter Fulton Robinson and Violet Allison Robinson.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Malcolm A. Clark; daughters, Betsy Mizelle and husband, Wade, and Kathy Miller; sons, Mike Clark and wife, Sherrie, and Robbie Clark and wife, Susie; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services were held Oct. 11 at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home.

MOORESVILLE – Robert Knute Knutson, 82, died Oct. 3, 2017. He was born Aug. 4, 1935, in Great Falls, Mont., to the late Knute Christian and Fern Cheetham Knutson.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran.

He was preceded in death by his brother, LeRoy Knutson, and sisters, Marilyn Gossack and Ruth Brumwell.

Survivors include his wife, Diantha Sexton Knutson; children, Pennie Hatcher and husband, David, and Michael Knutson and wife, Tanya, of Huntersville; sisters, Shirley Johnson and Betty Pearson; and two grandchildren.

Services were held Oct. 11 at Trinity Baptist Church.
