A late offensive explosion powered the Lincoln Charter Eagles past SouthLake Christian Academy, 11-5, April 24.
Trailing 3-2 entering the fifth inning, SouthLake tacked on three runs courtesy of Joe Haney, who belted his second home run of the night after crushing a two-run shot in the third. Haney delivered two of SouthLake's six hits and drove in all five runs.
Lincoln Charter answered immediately in the bottom half, however, dropping five runs to retake the lead at 8-5. The Eagles tacked on three insurance runs in the sixth inning and Nick Womack fired a scoreless seventh with two strikeouts to close out the victory.
The Eagles were led at the plate by senior Spencer Bright, who drove in three runs on a pair of doubles. Classmate Nate Callahan chipped in with a two RBIs.
Junior Hunter Harritan earned the win on the mound for Lincoln Charter, striking out six in six innings while allowing just four hits and two earned runs. Harritan helped his own cause at the plate, driving in two runs on a double and home run.
