MOORESVILLE – Due to logistics, family outings, travel plans and the fact vendors, entertainers and other key participants want some holiday time themselves, most of the organized public events to celebrate the season are held well before the big day. But there’s at least one more chance to have some healthy fun and help others.
On Saturday, Dec. 18, Ghostface Brewing in Mooresville will host the town’s second annual Elf Run and Tot Trot. The event, with a timed 5K and activities and attractions for all ages – there’s even speculation that a special guest from the North Pole will be making an early tour of the area – will be held from 9-11 a.m. at the Ghostface location at 427 E. Statesville Ave.
Participants are urged to wear their best holiday attire – there will be a kid and an adult costume contest – and bring an unwrapped toy to “fill the sleigh” for less-fortunate children in the area.
Course route is why the event is being held at Ghostface’s Brewery & Pizzeria on Statesville Avenue, but festivities will continue later at the company’s decked-out-for-Christmas second location at 225 S. Broad St.
