Districts report fewer dropouts




MOORESVILLE – Both of Iredell County’s public school districts reported five-year lows when it comes to dropout data recently released by the state.Iredell-Statesville Schools reported 141 high school dropouts in 2011-12, down from the 159 reported in 2010-11. The high school dropout rate decreased from 2.27 to 1.99 percent in that same span.The Mooresville Graded School District reported 32 high school dropouts in 2011-12, down from the 43 reported in 2010-11. The high school dropout rate decreased from 2.65 to 2.0 percent in that same span.Pine Lake Preparatory reported two dropouts in 2011-12, down from three reported in 2010-11. The high school dropout rate decreased from 0.9 to 0.5 percent.
