Facility for widows holding kickoff program

MOORESVILLE – A low-key, year-long effort to provide a residential option for area widows has reached a new stage, with a community kickoff event planned to help spread the word.

Felicity Manor will host the kickoff gathering on Thursday, Feb. 24, from 2-4 p.m., at First Baptist Church, 150 S. Church St. in Mooresville.

Refreshments will be served and visitors will have the chance to learn more about the plans for the future residential care facility designed to provide widows another option for independent living.

The proposed facility will provide living quarters for five to six widows. It will have a multi-purpose room for inter-generational activities and as a rental space for community gatherings.

Volunteers and residents will also work together to reach out to other widows and widowers in the area through the Felicity Manor Gives Back Community Outreach program.

All are invited to attend, and those who are unable to attend in person who would like to learn more about the facility are urged to send an email to felicitymanorplanning@gmail.com
