Fire department trains for potential emergencies



MOORESVILLE – Mooresville Fire and Rescue conducted training simulations Friday, April 13, that staff may face on the job.Incidents involved an industrial accident with a victim trapped on the eighth story of a building and a vehicle swept away by flood waters with victims injured downstream. Manikins were used to simulate injured patients who needed rescue from the side of a building or down a cliff.Responders had to find victims, provide medical care and use rope techniques to remove them from their locations.Mooresville Fire and Rescue has a special operations team that responds to land searches, structural collapses and various forms of rescue.Photos courtesy of Shane LaCount
