MOORESVILLE – The town’s revitalized Liberty Park and its built-for-performances amphitheater will be the setting for the kickoff  event in the 2021 Liberty Park Summer Concert Series.

On Friday, July 23, the venue will open at 4 p.m. and will feature a 6 p.m. concert by The Legacy Motown Review. The ensemble group includes singers and dancers choreographed with a six-piece horn section paying tribute to some of the legendary performers from the Motown era.

Friday’s show kicks off the series that, for now, has three more concerts scheduled in August.

On Aug. 6, Parmalee – described as up-and-coming breakout stars in the country music field – will be the featured act.

On Aug. 20, the popular band The Catalinas – a highly-praised piece of the beach music scene for 35 years – will bring its music and stage routines to Liberty Park.

And on Aug. 27, the Band of Oz, with a decades-long history of providing musical entertainment all along the East Coast, will bring it’s full horn section and eight-member group.

All concerts are free, open to the public.

For each show, the venue opens at 4 p.m. and concerts begin at 6 p.m., except for the Parmalee performance, which is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m.

Vendors and food trucks will set up an hour prior to the performance. Alcohol can be purchased from local beer vendors and must be accompanied by a wristband, which is available for purchase for $1 at the entrance.
