PUMPKIN CENTER – The North Lincoln boys team not only picked up a huge win over North Iredell Jan. 28, but head coach Dennis Frye also made history in the process.
With the 65-62 victory, Frye became the Knights’ career wins leader with 42 in just his third season. He passed Eric King, who coached at North from 2010-14.
The Knights posted an 8-15 mark the year before Frye arrived from Mill Creek Middle, and became conference champions two years later.
North Lincoln improved to 10-8 on the year after falling the previous two outings. Jack Waggoner and Connor Carson each poured in 18 points, while Reed King scored 11. North Iredell’s (12-6) John Jackson scored a game-high 23.
