Homeschoolers invited to wildlife and fishing clinic for Earth Day

HUNTERSVILLE – Duke Energy’s EnergyExplorium will host a free wildlife and fishing clinic for homeschool educators and children from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, April 22.

In partnership with the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission, the Earth Day event will educate adults and students about aquatic environments through learning activities, educational materials and a fishing experience. Families will start the day at the McGuire Nuclear Station facility by participating in a few learning stations and games focusing on backyard bass, life vests knots, bait, casting and rigging and fish species.

This vent for the homeschool community is designed to not only educate parents and students alike, but having fun learning about species of fish and the environment on Earth Day.

Guests start their EnergyExplorium experience with the educational exhibits located inside. Picnic shelters, located along the shores of Lake Norman, are available for those who want to end their visit with an outdoor lunch.
