Kannapolis men arrested at Walmart on 14 combined drug charges

MOORESVILLE – Mooresville Police arrested two Kannapolis men Sunday, April 12, on multiple felony drug charges, including for heroin, LSD and methamphetamine.

MPD received a call referencing a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of Walmart, 169 Norman Station Blvd., with two male subjects appearing to be passed out inside the vehicle, according to the department.

Responding officers reportedly located the vehicle, conducted a search and discovered illegal narcotics and drug paraphernalia. Both suspects were charged with multiple felony and misdemeanor drug related charges, as well as violating the governor’s Stay at Home order.

Kraig T. Leach, 22, was charged with felony possession with intent to sell or deliver a controlled substance (LSD), felony maintaining a vehicle to keep or sell a controlled substance, felony manufacturing a controlled substance (LSD), felony conspiracy to manufacture a controlled substance, felony possession of a controlled substance (heroin) in a local confinement facility, possession of a schedule IV controlled substance, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of Executive Order No. 121.

Leach was transported to the Iredell County Detention Center and is being held under a $37,500 secured bond.

Blackwell, 22, was charged with felony possession with intent to sell or deliver controlled substance (LSD), felony manufacturing a controlled substance (LSD), felony conspiracy to manufacture a controlled substance, felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of Executive Order No. 121.

Blackwell was transported to the Iredell County Detention Center under a $35,000 secured bond.
