SHERRILLS FORD – After 43 years of Lake Norman tradition, the 2021 New Year’s Day Barefoot Tournament will not be held due to the increasing impacts of COVID-19.

Held annually at Lake Norman Marina in Sherrills Ford, the event is one of the longest running barefoot tournaments in the country. It has become a tradition for contestants from all over the East coast and spectators in the Lake Norman and Charlotte region. Since its inception in 1979, this will be the first year that it will not have been held.
