MOORESVILLE – A Charlotte man with a long rap sheet was arrested on several felony charges in a traffic stop outside the entrance to a local elementary school Wednesday.

Several patrol deputies with the Iredell Sheriff’s Office were attempting to locate a suspect wanted by Troutman Police for an alleged armed robbery which occurred the day prior at a convenience store.

Information was obtained that the wanted fugitive, 30-year-old Ibrahim Jalloh of Charlotte, may have a child at Lake Shore Elementary School near Perth Road in Mooresville, the sheriff’s office said. A school resource officer, Deputy B. Whitlow, was able to confirm that the suspect may be en route for school dismissal.

Jalloh has a dangerous history and 10 outstanding warrants, including felony robbery with a dangerous weapon and felony larceny. Given his record, patrol deputies staged prior to the entrance of the school.

According to the sheriff’s office, the gray Lexus that was known to be the suspect’s vehicle was located on Perth Road, and deputies conducted a stop of that vehicle near Wilson Lake Road. The driver of the vehicle gave false information but was determined to be Jalloh. The passenger of the vehicle was identified as Michael Terrance Calvin, 39, from Charlotte.

Deputies searched the vehicle and reportedly located an AR-style pistol with a fully loaded 10-round magazine, more than 18 grams of cocaine, Percocet, marijuana and drug paraphernalia, the sheriff’s office said.
