Bruce Corbett Paron 

MOORESVILLE – Bruce Corbett Paron, 69, of Mooresville died June 13, 2022.

He was born Oct. 29, 1952, in Niagara Falls, N.Y., to Robert J. and Dorothea Athoe Paron.

He had a career in electronics and computer information services.

He served with the U.S. Army as a communications specialist.

He was predeceased by his parents and by an infant sister, Yvonne Louise Paron.

He is survived by his former wife, Susan Gresham, and their sons, Robert Mitchell Paron and Russell Allen Paron; and sister, Barbara Jane Paron.

Services were held June 29 at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home Chapel.

Ruth Alexandria Thompson

MT. ULLA – Ruth Alexandria Fischer Thompson, 96, of Mt. Ulla died June 26, 2022.

She was born Sept. 28, 1925, in New York City to the late John and Martina Shub Fischer. She worked as a Registered Nurse until her retirement and later volunteered with Rowan Helping Ministries. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Clem Thompson; sons, Thad Thompson and Mark Thompson; and daughter, Amy Thompson.

Survivors include her grandchildren, Brittany Thompson and Jeremy Thompson; and great-granddaughter, Kendall Brown.

Services were held June 30 at Thyatira Presbyterian Church.

Shasta Vickie Rose

MT. ULLA – Shasta Vickie Back Rose, 43, of Mount Ulla, died June 24, 2022.

She was born Feb. 2, 1979, in Hazard, K.Y. to Debra Adams Russell and the late Oscar Back.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Steven Rose; grandmother, Barbara Adams; and uncle, Ricky Adams.

She worked at Corrine’s Café.

She is survived by her daughter, Abby Rose; mother, Debra Russell and husband, James; sister, Michelle Sandlin and husband, Eddie; mother-in-law, Doris Rose; sister-in-law, Teresa Vickers; brother-in-law, Jimmy Rose and wife, Donna; nieces, Ronica Neace, Shelby Sandlin, Emily Firman and husband, Kyle, and Mackenzie Nicholson; nephews, Corey Neace, Jacob Griffitha and Joseph Griffith; great-nephews, Chace Neace, Karson Neace and Waylon Firman; and great-nieces, Ivy Anne Firman and Sara Leatherman.

Services were held June 28 at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home.

Lorene Newton Rash

MOORESVILLE – Lorene Newton Rash, 98, of Mooresville died June 23, 2022.

She was born Feb. 17, 1924, in Cliffside to the late Robert Hoyle Newton and Stella Mae Sherrill Newton.

She had an extensive career at Mooresville Mills, Rollie Martin Company, Regal Textiles, and owned a children’s store, Candianne’s. She co-owned PR Building Systems.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, William Paul Rash; brothers, Cecil, Richard, Bob, and Vernon Newton; and son-in-law, Jim Bagnal.

Survivors include her daughter, Dianne Rash Bagnal; son, William Mark Rash; sisters, Ruby Newton Isenhour and Connie Newton Lipe; brother, Herman Newton and wife, Barbara; granddaughters, Jennifer Bagnal Horton and husband, Greg, Candace Bagnal Nettles and husband, Neth, and Allison Bagnal Cranford and husband, Shaun; great-grandchildren, Anne, Zella and Sam Horton, Liam and Garner Nettes, and Will and Hayes Cranford.

Services were held June 27 at Broad Street United Methodist Church.

Clara Bender Johnson

MOORESVILLE – Clara Mae “Twi” Johnson, 97, of Mooresville died June 22, 2022.

She was born Oct. 2, 1924, in Rochester, Penn., to the late John and Stella Bender.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter G. Johnson; daughter, Judy Gordon; sons, Arthur and Alan Johnson; sisters, Ilda Garen, Irene Wolfe, Zeta Hilberg, Eleanor “Ferp” Mavero, Betty “Sis” Parilli and Dorothy “Dot” Bosco.

She is survived by daughter, Amy Dyvig and husband, Mark; grandchildren and their spouses, Jessie and Justin Cook, Cody Dyvig,, Jennifer and James Thomas, and Michael Gordon; great-grandchildren, Curtis Gordon, Matthew and Landon Thomas, and Oliver and Claire Cook; sister, Janet “Pooch” George; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Services were held June 29 at Peninsula Baptist Church.

Donald Allen Manson

MOORESVILLE – Donald Allen Manson, 83, of Mooresville died June 21, 2022.

He was born June 1, 1939, in St. Louis to the late George and Anne Rust Manson.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Wachtel Manson; sister, Linda Roider and husband, Martin Roider; sons, Jeff Manson and wife, Mary, and Scott Manson and wife, Beth; grandchildren, Brandon Chamberland, Jordan Manson, Jathen Manson, Andrew Manson and Carena Manson; and six great-grandchildren.

A private family service will be held Saturday, July 2. A memorial service and entombment will be held in Belleville, Illinois in October at a time and date to be determined.

Judith Lavonne Marguerite Earnhardt

MOORESVILLE – Judith Hubbard Earnhardt, 86, of Mooresville, died June 21, 2022.

She was born May 1, 1936, to the late Spencer and Ruby Hubbard. 

She was a cross-country truck driver.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dan Earnhardt; brothers, Donald Hubbard and Ted Hubbard; sisters, Margie Grace Hubbard, Renee Perry, Govanna Miller, Lois Black and Maizie Sharpe; and granddaughter, Rhonda Martin.

She is survived by her children, Mike Stephens and wife, Janie, Pam Stephens, Tim Stephens and wife, Robin, Kris Peebles and husband, Mike, Kat Warlick and husband, Wilson, and Terry Stephens and wife, Beth; 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date at Williams Memorial Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Charlotte.

Rodney Eugene London

MOORESVILLE – Rodney Eugene London, 55, of Mooresville died June 21, 2022.

He was born on Oct. 7, 1966, in Statesville, to the late Daryl and Brenda Jackson London.

Rodney owned and ran his own produce stand, Rodney’s Produce.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy London; children, Kimberly London and Bradly London; sisters, Stephanie Shumaker and Tammie Harris; brother, Ryan London; mother-in-law, Cynthia Caldwell; and brother-in-law, Chad Caldwell.

Cornell Rashad Harris

MOORESVILLE – Cornell ”Buddy” Rashad Harris Jr., 18, of Mooresville died June 20, 2022.

He was born July 29, 2003, in Mooresville, to Cornell R. Harris Sr. and Lasheria H. Harris.

In addition to his parents, survivors include his sister, Sania Harris; grandparents, Robert and Monica Harris, Elliot and Ruth Mills, Thomas and Pamela Bryant, uncles Damien Harris, Aviston Harris, Thomas Hart and wife, Angela, Mark Bishop and wife, Octavia, Franklin Stewart, Aunt Tomera Bryant; and great-grandparents; and many other relatives and friends. 

Services were held June 27 at Victory Christian Center.

Louise Thesier

MOORESVILLE – Louise H. Thesier, 88, of Mooresville and a former resident of Deer River, N.Y., died June 18, 2022.

She was born June 12, 1934, in Lowville, N.Y., to the late Leon and Antoinette Clark Rima.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred; and sister, Elsie Wetmore.

She helped her husband operate Big T Construction in Deer River and was also a homemaker.

She is survived by daughters; Kathryn and husband, Gordon, Meade and Karen Thesier; sons, Leo and wife, Beth, Thesier, Earle and wife, Ruth, Thesier and Jack and wife, Teddy, Thesier; 17 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 1 at St. James Catholic Church in Carthage with Rev. Todd E. Thibault officiating. Burial will be in Swinburne Cemetery, Deer River. Calling hours will be Thursday, June 30 from 4-7 p.m. at the Bezanilla-McGraw Funeral Home.

Pamela Sue Devine

MOORESVILLE – Pamela “Pam” Biggins Devine, 66, of Mooresville died June 16, 2022.

She was born April 7, 1956, in Minerva, Ohio, to Arthur and Trudy Biggins.

She worked at Pratt industries as a controller.

Survivors include her sons, Sam and Eric; and life partner, Terry. 

Services will be held privately in her backyard.
