Barry DeLane Sims
MOORESVILLE – Barry DeLane Sims, 81, of Mooresville, died March 6, 2023.
He was born Oct. 13, 1941, in Mooresville, to the late George “Red” Sims and Estelle Sims.
He worked for Blythe Industries and retired as manager of the Asphalt Plant in Concord.
He served in the U.S. Army and in the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife, Chandra Abser Sims; sons, Barry William Sims and wife, Candice, Chase Sims and Steven Sims; daughter, Heather Sims and husband, Patrick; grandchildren, Brittany, Cassidy, Sidney, Zack, Maddie, Cadence, Waylon, Aubree and Kynlee; step-grandchildren, Mason, Savannah and Levi; great-grandchildren, Luke, Rhett, Colton, Sawyer and Wiley; and sister, Rhonda Sims Walker.
A service was held March 11 at Mt. Zion Community Cemetery.

Willie E. Knox
MOORESVILLE – The Rev. Willie E. Knox, 80, of Mooresville, died March 4, 2023.
He was born March 22, 1942, in Iredell County to the late Eugene Farrar and Mary Bethel Knox.
He was a member of the U.S. Army
In addition to having a barber license, he was a mechanic, tax preparer and transportation business owner. He was later ordained as a licensed minister.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by George Farrar, Eugene Farrar Jr., Joyce Grant and Cynthia Farrar-Pratt.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Knox; sons, Rodney Sloan, Barron Kerns,Kevin Lytle and wife, Selma, and Lee Knox and wife, Kim; daughters, Karen Simpson and son, Charles, Veronica Coleman, Bregenia Smith and husband, Corey, Mavis Knox, Tamara Morris and husband, Cedric, and Lynn Knox and husband, Gene Wade; brothers, Roscoe Ramsey and wife, Patricia; James “Alvin” Ramsey and wife, Gwendolyn; David B. Ramsey; Willie McCombs and wife, Sadie, and Eugene Farrar; sisters, Vivian Brandon, Glenda Walker and husband, Cal, Darlene Johnson and husband, Milton, Martha Ramsey, Paula Robinson and husband, Oliver, Carla Harrison and husband, Grant Harrison, Mary Frances Troutman and husband, James, Bessie Belton, Alice Connor and husband, Guydell, Lois Parker and husband, James, and Betty Porter and husband, Marvin; special friends, Jacqueline Gamble, Danna Gore-Savage and Patricia Ware; 40-plus grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of many others.

Julie Ann Teat
MOORESVILLE – Julie Ann Teat, 60, of Mooresville, died Feb. 11, 2023.
She was born Dec. 31, 1962, in Gaston County, to the late Vernon and Mary Smith Teat.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Margaret Sue Laughridge; and brother, John Rosco Teat.
She is survived by her son, John Arney Teat; sister, Pamela Teat; and nephew, Timothy David Neil.

Timothy Ray Cook
MOORESVILLE – Timothy Ray “Tim” Cook, 67, of Mooresville, formerly of Lincolnton, died Feb.10, 2023.
He was born May 14, 1955, in Lincolnton, to the late Ray and Gertrude Aker Cook.
He opened the first antique mall in downtown Mooresville and was an avid collector and dealer and was part of the Mooresville Historical Preservation Foundation.
Tim and his partner, Tom, were longtime residents of Mooresville.

MOORESVILLE – Steven “Steve” Shane Monaghan, 51, of Mooresville, died Feb. 10, 2023.
He was born June 3, 1971, in Nassau, N.Y., to Thomas and Maureen Monaghan,
He was the director of enterprise data and analytics for MSC.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Kerri Lynn Smidt Monaghan; children, Emily Monaghan and Kylie Monaghan; brother, Tim Monaghan and wife, Michelle, and their daughter, Megan.

Norman Clay Caldwell
MOORESVILLE – Norman Clay Caldwell, 66, of Mooresville, died Feb. 8, 2023.
He was born Feb. 24, 1956, in Iredell County to the late Alfred Wardell
Caldwell and Mary Eva Caldwell.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Ruth Marie Caldwell Sanders.

Barbara Ann Dishman
MOORESVILLE – Barbara Ann Dishman, 88, of Mooresville, died Feb. 8, 2023.
She was born on April 10, 1934, in Iredell County, to the late Cullen and Mary Barkley Benfield.
She served as the snack bar attendant at Moor Lanes.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Boyden Dishman; siblings, Marverine Stutts, Bill Benfield and Lib Christie.
She is survived by her children, Martha Dishman, Wesley Dishman and wife, Bridgette Ray, Cathy Burrell and husband, Steve Teeter, and Nancy Goodman; grandchildren, Amy Lyerly and husband, Kevin Houck, Shane Dishman and wife, Samantha, Josh Powers and wife, Lea, and Chrystan Dozier and husband, Joe; great-grandchildren, Dustin Lyerly, Zach Powers and wife, Emma, Alycia Powers, Matthew Lyerly, James Dishman, Elora Dozier and Lilly Williamson; and special friend, Judy Cowan Morrow.

Betty Louise Puckett
TROUTMAN – Betty Louise Puckett, 75, of Troutman, died Feb. 7, 2023. She was born on March 11, 1947, in Laeger, W. Va., to the late Herman and Garnet Rutherford Roberts.
She worked at Burlington Industries and retired from the Mooresville Library.
In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her great-granddaughter, Chloe; brothers, Herman Junior Roberts, Dale Roberts and Bill Roberts.
She is survived by her husband, Edmond Puckett; children, Aaron Roberts and wife, Stephanie Mauriello, Sabrina Stiltner and husband, Jamey, and Jeff Puckett and wife, Lisa; grandchildren, Kami, Caressa, Shawnetta, Micah, R.J., Matthew and David; nine great-grandchildren; siblings, Kathy Lester and Cleta Ramsey; sister-in-law, Martha Roberts; and numerous nieces and nephews.
