Mooresville police seek identification of suspect in burglary




MOORESVILLE – Members of the Mooresville Police Department are seeking the identity of a suspect believed to be involved in a burglary that occurred the morning of Aug. 21, according to a Mooresville Police Department news release.

Officers responded to a residential alarm in the Byers Creek subdivision. The suspect – or suspects – fled the scene prior to their arrival, the release states.

A handbag was reported stolen from the residence, and debit cards in it were used at two service stations in Mooresville and one service station in Charlotte.

Surveillance images show the suspect vehicle is a maroon or plum-colored Lincoln MKS four-door sedan with chrome trim and a chrome sunroof, according to the release. The tag is unknown.

One of the suspects is described as a young black man who is approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall with a thin build and short hair. He was last seen wearing a red oversized T-shirt with “T-BREDS” on the front and the number 9 on the back, a two-tone gray baseball cap, black baggy pants and black and white athletic shoes.
